What We Do
We add value by applying patented technology to solve real-world challenges – now, not later. We work to see “around corners” and address well-known needs of utilities to move more renewable power and less traditional power using forgotten assets already in place and existing land positions.
Related Initiatives
Fiber optics systems can be upgraded as a natural outcrop of our work. Repurposing hydrocarbon pipelines for long-haul fiber transmission addresses current industry demand for more cost-effective underground solutions, particularly in urban, forest protected, or high population density areas. With long-distance pipeline systems, we can connect major metro areas, providing hyperscalers and other fiber customers with a more protected, secure, and direct path than overhead typically distribution-level routes can provide today.
Innovation
As a collective team we foster creativity, imagination, practicality, and realism as interchangeable tools that lead to success. What separates our initiatives is process-driven ability to connect disparate business cultures (e.g., Oil and Gas vis-a-vis Electric Utilities), gleaning the best elements of each, then combining those with the latest engineering technology to push innovative solutions to construction reality. Specifically, “insurmountable” energy and data bottlenecks can be resolved in this way.
Proven Partnerships
We work with some of the largest, most capable development partners, EPC companies, and legacy asset owners in North America to achieve results. One of these companies is Quanta Services, through its subsidiary Mears Holdings, LLC, with whom Abnaki co-owns, or shares rights to, US and Canadian patents either approved or pending. Quanta (NYSE:PWR) is among the largest engineering, procurement, and construction companies in the country and is involved in several long-distance pipeline, electric, and fiber transmission projects.
